Sindh Local Government Minister, Saeed Ghani, said that 14th August Independence Day is not just about observing festivities as it is also the day to reaffirm one’s pledge to act upon Quaid-e-Azam’s vision.
The Local Government Minister stated this on Wednesday while speaking at a flag hoisting ceremony at the head office of Karachi Development Authority to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day. The Local Government Minister along with the KDA Director-General, Syed Shujaat Hussain, performed the flag hoisting.
Ghani lamented that Pakistan was yet to be evolved as per the vision of Quaid-e-Azam despite that 77 years had passed since gaining independence.
He praised the victory of athlete Arshad Nadeem in the Paris Olympics while stating that the Pakistani nation had become optimistic following this outstanding sporting achievement.
He said that Arshad Nadeem through his sheer hard work, dedication, and commitment had overcome poverty and lack of resources to achieve a historical victory in the Olympics. He said that Pakistan had been blessed with a massive athletic and sporting talent that should be properly promoted and nurtured.
Ghani especially praised the sacrifices of the martyrs who had laid down their lives while defending their motherland. He said that in his view Pakistan had been far from achieving Quaid-e-Azam’s vision.
He told the audience that Pakistan’s founder had the desire to create an independent and autonomous homeland for Muslims of the Indian sub-continent where people could live without any ethnic or linguistic bias. He lamented that Pakistanis stood divided based on linguistic, racial, and ethnic affiliations.
Ghani said that all the countrymen should stand united to work hard to achieve Quaid-e-Azam’s dreams.
He said the coming generations should get a prosperous, progressive, and developed Pakistan as per the vision of Quaid-e-Azam. The Local Government Minister said that personal interests should be set aside to achieve Pakistan’s progress and development.
