In a significant development, former Senator and Jamiat-e-Islami leader Mushtaq Ahmed has been released from Israeli detention and is now safe at the Pakistani Embassy in Oman.
The news was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, who took to social media to share the update. “I am pleased to inform the nation that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed is now free,” he wrote, emphasizing that Ahmed is currently healthy and completely secure.
The Pakistani Embassy in Oman is reportedly coordinating closely with Ahmed to ensure his safe and smooth return to Pakistan. In his statement, Ishaq Dar expressed gratitude to the friendly countries that provided active support and worked in collaboration with Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the release.
“This achievement is the result of persistent diplomatic efforts and international cooperation,” Dar added, calling Ahmed’s release a welcome development for Pakistan.
The government has reiterated its commitment to protecting the safety of Pakistani citizens abroad and highlighted the importance of diplomacy in resolving such sensitive matters.
