Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi meets Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins to review Pakistan–Australia relations and explore ways to strengthen mutual cooperation in areas of security, border management, and anti-trafficking efforts.
Expanding Pakistan–Australia Cooperation
The meeting discussed enhancing coordination between coast guards and border security forces to curb illegal immigration and human trafficking.
Both sides agreed that continued collaboration will help ensure safe migration and regional stability.
The Australian High Commissioner expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of police officers and members of Pakistan’s security forces in recent incidents, praising their dedication to maintaining peace.
Praise for Development Projects & Cultural Ties
Neil Hawkins lauded the restoration work of Gaddafi Stadium and the urban development projects in Islamabad, noting visible progress under Mohsin Naqvi’s leadership.
He said,
“Pakistan has improved its international standing and I have had a memorable time here. Darbar Bibi Pak Daman in Lahore is one of my favorite places.”

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi meets Australian High Commissioner and reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance on discouraging illegal immigration and promoting legal pathways for migration.
“Those involved in illegal human trafficking will face strict legal action. We are taking decisive steps to dismantle these networks,” he stated.
He appreciated the efforts of the Australian High Commission in promoting bilateral relations and expressed best wishes for Neil Hawkins’ future endeavors.
