WBreast Cancer Day 2025: Awareness Walk and Seminar at Kiran Hospital Karachi
An awareness walk and seminar were held at the Karachi Institute of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine (Kiran Hospital) to mark Breast Cancer Day 2025, focusing on early detection, prevention, and women’s health.
The event was attended by Member of Sindh Assembly Khaskheli, UC Chairman, Director Kiran Hospital Dr. Asghar Hussain Asghar, Dr. Isra, Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman, Dr. Saira, Dr. Aamir Maqbool, Dr. Umaima, staff, and hospital patients.
Experts Highlight Early Detection
Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Saira, Dr. Umaima, and Dr. Asghar Hussain Asghar presented data on breast cancer cases in Pakistan and urged women to schedule regular check-ups.
They stressed that Breast Cancer Day serves as a reminder that early detection and awareness can save thousands of lives each year.
“This disease is curable when treated at the right stage,” said Dr. Asghar Hussain Asghar. “We must overcome fear through awareness and medical guidance.”

The UC Chairman assured cooperation in organizing community-level Breast Cancer Day campaigns in coordination with Kiran Hospital.

Speakers cited official figures showing that breast cancer cases in Pakistan have increased faster than in India, emphasizing the need for routine screening, awareness, and counseling.
They noted that urban stress, poor diets, and delayed treatment remain major risk factors.

Dr. Asghar Hussain Asghar announced free breast examinations for low-income women and a 50 % discount on treatment at Kiran Hospital.
He invited local representatives to hold more Breast Cancer Day sessions in their areas to expand awareness networks.
