Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir meets Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Itihadia Presidential Palace in Cairo, reaffirming the long-standing brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), HJ, and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi discussed a wide range of issues, including regional stability, counter-terrorism, and socio-economic cooperation between the two Islamic nations.
Strengthening Pakistan–Egypt Bilateral Ties
The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive environment. Both dignitaries expressed deep appreciation for the historical and spiritual ties connecting the people of Pakistan and Egypt.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir commended the Egyptian leadership’s proactive role in promoting regional peace, inter-faith harmony, and stability in the Middle East and Africa.
In response, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi praised Pakistan’s contributions to peacekeeping, global diplomacy, and the collective welfare of the Muslim Ummah. He lauded Pakistan’s consistent role as a responsible and stabilizing force in South Asia and the wider Islamic world.
Strategic and Regional Dialogue
During the discussion, both sides reaffirmed their shared vision for a peaceful and interconnected region. They emphasized coordination on strategic matters, particularly those related to security, counter-terrorism, defence industry, and intelligence sharing.
“Our nations share a deep historical connection built on mutual respect, faith, and cooperation,” said Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. “Pakistan values its relations with Egypt and looks forward to deepening collaboration in all spheres — from security to socio-economic development.”
The Egyptian President agreed, highlighting the need for regular defence dialogue, joint training programs, and technological partnerships between the two armed forces.
Focus on Socio-Economic and Technological Cooperation
The leaders also recognized the potential for enhanced socio-economic engagement, focusing on trade, education, science, and technology exchange. Both sides expressed interest in increasing business-to-business collaboration, academic partnerships, and people-to-people connectivity.
They acknowledged the growing global importance of strategic cooperation between Muslim nations to tackle emerging challenges, including climate resilience, food security, and digital transformation.
Commitment to Regional and Global Peace
President el-Sisi appreciated Pakistan’s balanced and responsible approach toward international peace efforts, while Field Marshal Munir praised Egypt’s leadership in advancing unity within the Arab and Muslim worlds.
Both leaders agreed that closer military and economic coordination would help promote regional security, stability, and prosperity—not only for Pakistan and Egypt but for the wider Islamic community.
