IG Sindh Rifat Mukhtar Raja visited Mirpur and chaired a meeting at the DIG Mirpur Range Office to review the current law and order situation and overall arrangements for the 2024 elections.

In the briefing given to the meeting, DIG Mirpur Under the Range Security Plan on the occasion of the election, including peacekeeping measures, police picketing, area patrolling, blockade, recce, surveillance, including intelligence gathering and intelligence gathering, police response and follow-up were covered in detail. He said that in the light of the clear orders of the Election Commission, foolproof security arrangements have been made for the implementation of the code of conduct, at polling stations, roads, highways and sensitive installations in the range, including election constituencies, important public and private buildings.

IG Sindh directed that promotional measures should be taken to keep the public aware of the implementation of the election code of conduct and the overall affairs of the police related to law and order, he said that a detailed review of all security arrangements should be made as soon as possible. He said that resources and manpower have been provided regarding foolproof security and administrative issues in the range. Therefore, all available resources and manpower should be used for extraordinary security arrangements on the occasion of this election.
He added that the dignitaries should visit the areas of potential danger, meet prominent political and religious figures and make them aware of the importance and utility of their role in the peaceful general election, including the establishment of peace, and attract them to all possible cooperation from the police. The meeting was attended by all SSPs, SPs and other senior police officers of the district.
