Iranian Foreign Minister to Visit Pakistan

The Foreign Office (FO) announced on Monday that Iran’s foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, is scheduled to visit Pakistan on January 29.
This visit comes in the wake of heightened tensions between the two nations following an Iranian air strike in Pakistan. In response, Islamabad conducted strikes against terrorist hideouts in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province.
In a statement, the FO mentioned, “Following the telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of Pakistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, it has been mutually agreed that ambassadors of both countries may return to their respective posts by January 26, 2024.”
The statement further indicated that the Iranian foreign minister would be traveling to Pakistan on January 29 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Jilani.
