A two-day meeting of the Central General Council of JUI Pakistan was held at Mufti Mehmood Center in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Central Amir Maulana Fazlur Rehman. In the meeting, Central General Secretary Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari Akram Khan Durrani Maulana Qamaruddin Maulana Fazal Ali Haqqani Muhammad Aslam Ghori Maulana Amjad Khan. Lahori Mufti Rozi Khan Amir of Balochistan Province Maulana Abdul Wasi General Secretary Maulana Mahmood Shah from Sindh Maulana Abdul Qayyum Halijvi Maulana Rashid Mehmood Soomro from Punjab Hafiz Naseer Ahrar Mufti Mazhar Asadi, Amir Center of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province Maulana Attaur Rahman Maulana Ataul Haque Darwish from Gilgit Baltistan Maulana Ataullah Shahab from Azad Kashmir Maulana Saeed Yusuf Center Kamran Murtaza Advocate Former Center Zahafiz Hussain Ahmed Engineer Ziaur Rehman Hafiz Hamdullah Former members of National and Provincial Assembly and members from across the country Attended by the General Council.

According to the spokesperson of JUI Pakistan Aslam Ghori, JUI’s Central General Assembly/General Council unanimously elected Maulana Fazlur Rehman as Ameer and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari as Nazim General/General Secretary for the next five years.

In the meeting, while announcing full participation in the upcoming general elections, instructions were issued to the provincial organizations to send final proposals regarding the candidates of the National and Provincial Assembly. In the meeting, the provincial organizations presented the political situation and operational reports of the provinces, on which the Provincial General Council expressed satisfaction. It was also decided to hold rallies in the district headquarters across Pakistan to express solidarity with the Muslims of Palestine. Addressing the closing meeting, JUI Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman Sahib said that Jamiat Ulema Islam will participate in the February 8 elections despite reservations. He said that due to our four-year struggle, the international agenda has fallen to the ground.

For the last 20 years, anti-national forces have organized a conspiracy against the security of the country and have invested in one party. JUI has united the political parties of the country. He said that JUI informed the nation about the conspiracies against the country through million marches on the streets for four consecutive years. MF and World Bank were made slaves. He said that today the nation is suffering the punishment of the previous Tehreek-e-Insaaf government’s frivolous decisions.
