Karachi (Staff Reporter) Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani have said that to deal with the electricity crisis in Karachi, K Electric not only uses all its resources but also protects the lives of the people. He said to bear the financial losses۔ Everyone is worried because of some electricity thieves, so K Electric should conduct an operation against electricity thieves, Sindh government will fully support them۔ He expressed these views while talking to the media after the ceremony held in the office of Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Wednesday۔ CEO K Electric Mons Alvi said that several meetings have been held between the Sindh government and K Electric and we have taken steps to minimize electricity loadshedding۔ He said that we have also started work on the end of load shedding from 10 pm to 6 am on behalf of the provincial ministers, but in the past few days, due to wind outage, there was a disruption in the supply of electricity from wind power and the storm in Jamshoro. Due to the collapse of 5 towers, K Electric was facing a decrease in electricity supply, but now the situation is different It has improved and we have started producing more expensive electricity than diesel at night and inshallah soon apart from night load shedding, load shedding will be reduced during the day as well۔ He said that currently there is zero loadshedding at 1700 out of 2100 feeders in Karachi while there is load shedding of 6 to 10 hours on 400 feeders which is up to 50% losses۔ He said that we also demand the people to pay the minimum current bill so that we take steps to minimize or eliminate load shedding۔ On this occasion, Saeed Ghani said that all the things that our friend Monis Alvi is talking about should be corrected۔ He said that we all wish that electricity can be provided to the people for 24 hours without interruption and if there are some obstacles that steal electricity in its way, K Electric should take full action against them and we will support them۔ He said that if someone does not pay the electricity bill or steals electricity, then K Electric should take action against him and not give the people the punishment of load shedding for hours as a punishment for some electricity thieves۔ He said that if K Electric also suffers financial loss to protect the lives of the people in the hot summer, he said that he should bear it and play his role in saving the lives of the people۔ On this occasion, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that K Electric has convinced the administration to play its full role to protect the lives of the people and ensure full measures for continuous power supply۔ On this occasion, Monis Alvi said that electricity loadshedding will not be done during gatherings and processions during Muharram۔
