Manghopir Town Annual Performance Praised by Commissioner Karachi
Manghopir Town Annual Performance was reviewed today at the Deputy Commissioner West Office, where Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi chaired a detailed meeting to assess the town’s progress, transparency, and fiscal management for the past year.
The meeting brought together key officials, including Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi, Municipal Commissioner Agha Khaliq, and officers from all relevant departments, who presented the annual performance report and discussed future development strategies.
Focus on Financial Transparency and Audits
Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi sought a comprehensive briefing from Chairman Manghopir Town Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi regarding the town’s income, development expenditures, and overall revenue performance.
He emphasized that financial transparency, timely audits, and accurate record-keeping must be ensured in all departments so that public funds are utilized effectively and with accountability.
“Every rupee collected through taxes must be directed toward improving the lives of citizens,” said Commissioner Naqvi, underscoring the need for strict internal controls.
Manghopir Town Annual Performance Highlights
Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi briefed the Commissioner that numerous development projects were successfully completed during the past year. These included sanitation improvements, road rehabilitation, sewerage line repairs, and upgrades to civic facilities across Manghopir Town.
He stated that revenues generated from road cutting fees, property taxes, trade licenses, town tax, and UIPT were being used for developmental work with complete transparency.
“A strict action plan has been prepared to recover taxes from defaulters to ensure financial stability,” he added.
Public Welfare and Environmental Initiatives
Highlighting key public service initiatives, Chairman Brohi shared that several programs were launched to promote education, sports, cleanliness, and tree plantation in the area.
He noted that a large-scale plantation drive is currently underway to combat air pollution and create a greener, cleaner, and healthier Manghopir Town for residents.
“Our aim is to make Manghopir Town a model of urban renewal and public-friendly governance,” said Brohi.

Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi appreciated the administrative discipline, fiscal transparency, and dedication to public welfare demonstrated by the Manghopir Town team.

He added that while the progress was satisfactory, further steps are needed to strengthen institutions, modernize revenue systems, and digitize public services to make Manghopir Town a “Model Town”.
Decision for Comprehensive Audit and Future Planning
The participants unanimously agreed to conduct a comprehensive audit of all financial matters, including road cutting fees, property tax, trade licenses, and UIPT records, before preparing the next fiscal year’s budget.
Commissioner Naqvi directed that the 2026 development budget be based on audited figures to ensure maximum transparency and accountability.
