LAHORE: The National Inter-region U-13 Cricket Tournament is set to begin in three cities across the country.
The participating teams are divided into three pools. Pool `A` games will take place in Karachi, pool `B` games are scheduled to be held in Faisalabad while Lahore will host pool `C` matches.
The competition featuring 240 players from 16 regional teams will see a total of 39 matches.
At the end of the group stage, each top team from the three pools will advance to the triangular stage which will be followed by a final. The triangular stage and the final will be played in Faisalabad from Feb 15 to 19.
Teams from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Abbottabad, Quetta, Hyderabad, Larkana, Dera Murad Jamali Khan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Fata will compete in the event.
Cash prizes worth Rs930,000 will be distributed at the end of the tournament with winners taking Rs500,000 and runners-up pocketing Rs250,000.
The player of the tournament, best bowler, batter, wicket-keeper, fielder and man-of-the-final will get Rs30,000 each.
