Islamabad — During the Pakistan Army DI Khan Operation, a Pakistan Army major was martyred and seven terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, the Pakistan Army DI Khan Operation was launched on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Daraban area. During the intense exchange of fire, Major Sibtain Haider, 30, a resident of Quetta, embraced martyrdom while leading his troops bravely from the front.
The ISPR confirmed that seven terrorists were eliminated, and a cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered. The slain militants were involved in multiple attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.
A sanitisation operation is underway to clear the area of any remaining threats. The military reiterated its resolve to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan, stating that the sacrifices of its soldiers further strengthen national determination.
President Asif Ali Zardari praised the successful Pakistan Army DI Khan Operation and paid tribute to Major Sibtain Haider’s courage and sacrifice, reaffirming the nation’s unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism.
