Pakistan Coast Guards Hold Ceremony to Destroy Confiscated Smuggled Goods
Karachi, Pakistan – The Pakistan Coast Guards organized a ceremony near the shrine of Hassan Shah to publicly destroy confiscated smuggled goods, reaffirming its commitment to curb smuggling and narcotics trafficking. The ceremony was attended by senior military and civil officials, along with distinguished guests from various walks of life.
The objective of the ceremony was to raise public awareness against the growing menace of smuggling and illegal trade while highlighting the role of the Pakistan Coast Guards in safeguarding national interests and public well-being.

Details of Destroyed Smuggled Goods
The smuggled goods destroyed during the ceremony included 9,720 kilograms of betel nut (supari), 31,313 kilograms of Indian gutka packets, 450 kilograms of naswar, 10,250 kilograms of China salt, 6,655 cartons of foreign cigarettes, 5,259 kilograms of catechu and tobacco mixture (gudaku), 90 kilograms of poppy seeds, and a quantity of prohibited medicines.
The estimated value of the destroyed smuggled items in the international market is approximately PKR 123 million, reflecting the scale of enforcement efforts undertaken by the Pakistan Coast Guards.
