PPP Members Accused Murder

Police registered a case against several Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers, including their National Assembly candidate in district Central, in connection with the murder of a Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) activist during a clash in Nazimabad. Gulbahar SHO Shabbir Husain mentioned that PPP candidate Rao Abdul Waheed was named in the case, alleging that his guard fired shots during the clash. While raids were conducted, no arrests had been made at that point.
The First Information Report (FIR) was filed on the complaint of MQM-P candidate Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui, invoking sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act. According to Siddiqui, over two dozen PPP workers, led by Rao Saeed and Rao Abdul Waheed, attacked the MQM-P election office and engaged in gunfire, resulting in the death of MQM-P worker Faraz Ahmed Qureshi.
In response, PPP leader Waqar Mehdi claimed that their party worker Rao Talha was injured, and vehicles belonging to Rao Waheed were torched during the clash. He added that the PPP had submitted an application to the Gulbahar police to file an FIR, but it had not been addressed.
