Karachi (Staff Reporter) Minister of Local Government, Housing Town Planning, Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Sindh Saeed Ghani has said that during Eid-ul-Azha, the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board has decided to pick up and dispose of animal waste facilities across Sindh including Karachi. Revise the preparations and submit a new plan in 24 hours۔ With the help of all administrations and elected representatives, plans should be prepared to deal with Eid-ul-Azha and monsoon rains۔ In all the districts where Solid West has not started the work yet, the relevant commissioners and deputy commissars should meet the district administration and elected representatives to finalize the plans۔ Within three days of Eid-ul-Azha, no negligence will be tolerated in lifting the daily waste along with the garbage۔ He expressed these views in a high-level meeting held at the Sindh Secretariat Committee Room on Tuesday regarding Eid-ul-Azha and monsoon rains۔What while presiding۔ Additional Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Khalid Haider Shah, MD Solid West Imtiaz Shah, Additional Commissioner Karachi, Municipal Commissioner KMC, Chairman and Municipal Commissars of all towns, MD Water Board, Directors and Deputy Directors of all districts of Sindh Solid West, Chief Ministers across the province on video calls, Deputy Mayors, Commissars, Deputy Commissars, Deputy Commissars, Chief Officers of Sindh Solid West of all districts also participated۔Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani expressed his anger by expressing his lack of confidence in the plans made by the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board for Karachi۔ He said that the plan to be prepared during Eid-ul-Azha should be done by looking at the ground realities ۔ Saeed Ghani said that the way the machinery is kept in different districts is not visible on the ground realities in any case۔ Saeed Ghani directed MD Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Imtiaz Shah to prepare a complete plan within the next 24 hours and to include the administration and elected town chairmen and address their concerns۔ He said that the commissars and deputy commissars of all the districts should hold meetings with government officials and specially elected public representatives in their respective districts. Finalize the plans۔ Saeed Ghani further said that where Sindh is not a solid waste, the deputy commissars in those areas should call a meeting at the level of union councils and finalize the Eid-ul-Adha and rain plans۔ He said that we can get good results together with the district administration and elected representatives۔ Saeed Ghani said that the holidays of all municipal staff have been canceled during Eid-ul-Azha and all staff will remain on the roads even amid the monsoon rains۔ Saeed Ghani instructed the district administration of all districts across Sindh to keep a close eye on dumping points, transportation of furniture, spray campaign and others regarding Eid-ul-Azha۔ While giving instructions to MD Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, he said that it should make it mandatory that the work of picking up waste at the daily level during the Eid-ul-Adha operation should not be reduced under any circumstances۔ On the demand of the town chairmen, he gave instructions to the MD to deploy the vehicles assigned to lift the furniture at the UC level on Eid-ul-Azha and to make it clear that the UC numbers are clearly visible on the vehicles۔ Saeed Ghani issued instructions that garage points should not be made around the airport under any circumstances, while efforts should be made around the hospital so that such collection points are not made there as well۔ Saeed Ghani also instructed all the town chairmen to try to work with the chairman of all the usis to take steps to allocate the place of sacrifice and to include the people of all schools of thought۔ He said that a time should be set for all the collection points to be emptied before the evening hours and cleaning arrangements should be made there to save the residents from suffering۔ Saeed Ghani directed Additional Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Khalid Haider Shah to write a letter to IG Sindh for deployment of police at dumping and collection points while all the commissars posted section 144 in their respective areas for a week۔ On this occasion, MD Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Imtiaz Shah said that during Eid-ul-Azha in Karachi, arrangements will be made to lift 1 lakh 56 thousand 350 metric tons of waste with 96 thousand 782 metric tons of waste in the city۔Arrangements have been completed to dispose of the goods in all the districts of Karachi including Sindh where Sindh Solid West is working۔ Imtiaz Shah said that he is in full contact with the chairman and MCs of all the towns of Karachi and on the instructions of the provincial minister, a meeting will be called today to ensure all measures۔ On this occasion, from the video link, Mayor Kashif Shoro, Mayor of Larkana, Municipal Commissars, Commissars, Deputy Commissars, Sindh Solid Waste Management Board officers and others from other districts of Sindh took up the situation across Sindh, especially during Eid-ul-Adha. Informed about the arrangements for disposal۔ While many pointed out some flaws, on which Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani immediately directed to remove these flaws۔
