Manghopir Town Chairman Meets Karachi Mayor to Discuss Development

Chairman of Town Municipal Corporation Manghopir Town, Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi, held a meeting with Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab to discuss ongoing development projects, municipal services, environmental initiatives, youth empowerment, and future development plans for the town. Municipal Commissioner Manghopir Town, Agha Khaliq, also attended the meeting, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to improving public services and accelerating development initiatives.
Manghopir Town Development Projects Reviewed
During the meeting, Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi briefed the Mayor on the progress of development work across Manghopir Town. He said that despite limited resources, the Town Administration is making every effort to provide quality municipal services to residents.
The Chairman outlined ongoing projects, including road construction and rehabilitation, restoration of the sewerage system, sanitation and cleanliness drives, drain cleaning, installation and maintenance of streetlights, rehabilitation of parks, and other public welfare initiatives.
Karachi Mayor Assures Support for Manghopir Town
Mayor Murtaza Wahab appreciated the ongoing development work, administrative performance, and public service initiatives undertaken by the Manghopir Town administration.
He commended the efforts of Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi and his team and assured continued cooperation with all town administrations to ensure the timely resolution of public issues and support Karachi’s overall development. He also pledged full support for the town’s ongoing and future development projects.
Tree Plantation and Environmental Protection Discussed
The meeting also focused on environmental sustainability and measures to reduce pollution.
A proposal was discussed to launch a large-scale tree plantation campaign across Manghopir Town, including the planting of trees along major roads, in parks, educational institutions, and other public spaces. Mayor Murtaza Wahab expressed support for the initiative, stating that tree plantation plays an important role in addressing climate change and improving the urban environment.
Proposal for IT and Digital Skills Training
Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi proposed the introduction of IT and digital skills development programmes to equip young people in Manghopir Town with modern technological expertise.
He said that providing quality training in information technology, computer education, and digital skills would enhance employment opportunities for local youth while contributing to the country’s economic development.
The Chairman also requested the Mayor to coordinate with the relevant authorities to facilitate the establishment of IT training centres and modern vocational training programmes within the town.
Leaders Reaffirm Commitment to Public Welfare
Mayor Murtaza Wahab welcomed the proposals and assured his cooperation in promoting education, technology, and professional skills among young people through collaboration with relevant institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating development projects in Manghopir Town, improving municipal services, promoting environmental sustainability, and implementing public welfare initiatives aimed at creating better opportunities and an improved quality of life for residents.
