Shabnam Zafar Elected Khairpur Chamber President

Shabnam Zafar has been elected unopposed as President of the Khairpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside the election of Muhammad Adil as Senior Vice President and Raja Daryano Mal as Vice President.
The new office-bearers were elected during the Annual General Meeting of the Khairpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting brought together members of the Executive Committee, former office-bearers, businessmen associated with the date market, exporters and other members of the business community.
The newly elected leadership is expected to focus on addressing business-related issues in Khairpur while supporting trade, exports, industrial activity and greater access to domestic and international markets.
Shabnam Zafar Elected Unopposed
Shabnam Zafar was elected unopposed as President of the Khairpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Muhammad Adil was elected Senior Vice President, while Raja Daryano Mal was elected Vice President, with both also securing their positions unopposed.
The election marks the beginning of a new leadership term for the chamber, with the newly elected office-bearers set to represent the interests of the local business community.
The Executive Committee will include Pradeep Kumar, Gurnomal, Waqar Ahmed, Syed Sajid Jamal, Saeed Ahmed, Sohail Ahmed, Abdul Sami Memon, Riaz Ahmed Memon and Faraz Memon.
Two seats reserved for women entrepreneurs were also filled, with Ms Samina Sheikh and Ms Hazel Hanif elected to the positions.
Shabnam Zafar Highlights Business Growth
Speaking at the occasion, Shabnam Zafar said the strength of the national economy is directly connected with the promotion of business activities, increased industrial production and growth in exports.
She said resolving the issues faced by the Khairpur business community and creating a conducive environment for businesses would remain among her key priorities.
Her remarks focused on the importance of strengthening business activity and creating conditions that can support traders, industrialists, exporters and other members of the local business community.
Khairpur’s Date Sector Highlighted
Shabnam Zafar also highlighted Khairpur’s significant position in agricultural production, particularly its date production and exports.
She said the sector has potential that can be further developed through greater attention to modern packaging, value addition, cold storage, quality processing and international marketing.
According to her, these areas require special attention to fully utilize the potential of Khairpur’s date sector.
The chamber, she said, would play an effective role in bringing the problems faced by local businessmen and exporters before the relevant authorities and pursuing their resolution.
Shabnam Zafar Calls for Better Market Access
Shabnam Zafar said Khairpur’s traders and industrialists need greater access to domestic and international markets.
She also highlighted the importance of export facilities, banking services and modern technology for the local business community.

During the Annual General Meeting, the services of former President Sajid Mir and other former office-bearers and members were appreciated.
The meeting was attended by Executive Committee members, including Dr Waqar Khan, Muhammad Bashir Arain, Sajid Aziz Mir, Sajid Arain, Shakeel Khan and Riaz, along with other chamber members.
Businessmen associated with Khairpur’s date market and exporters also participated in the meeting, reflecting the involvement of different sections of the local business community.
Women Entrepreneurs Join Executive Committee
The election also resulted in representation for women entrepreneurs within the chamber’s Executive Committee.
Ms Samina Sheikh and Ms Hazel Hanif were elected to the two seats reserved for women entrepreneurs.
Their inclusion adds representation from women entrepreneurs to the newly elected chamber leadership and Executive Committee.

Looking ahead, Shabnam Zafar said the chamber would work to strengthen coordination between the government and the business community.
