ISLAMABAD (NNP) —
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif says Pakistan can no longer maintain old ties with Kabul, declaring that Afghan citizens must return to their homeland and that Pakistan will no longer tolerate conspiracies against its sovereignty.

Revealing details of Pakistan’s diplomatic and security efforts after the Afghan Taliban regime’s formation, the Defense Minister stated that the rulers of Kabul are acting under Indian influence, working to destabilize Pakistan while residing in India’s camp.

Strong Message from the Defense Minister

Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan had provided shelter and protection to millions of Afghan refugees for decades, but now the situation demands decisive action.

“Our land and resources belong to 250 million Pakistanis. It’s time to end five decades of forced hospitality,” he said.
“Self-serving nations do not survive on foreign soil and resources.”

The minister emphasized that Pakistan’s letters of protest will no longer be appeals for peace, and no new delegations will visit Kabul.

“Wherever the source of terrorism exists, a heavy price will be paid — Allahu Akbar,” he added.

Afghanistan Accused of Being a Proxy of India

Khawaja Asif asserted that Afghanistan has become a proxy of India, and that the war on terror was imposed on Pakistan through India, Afghanistan, and the banned TTP working together.
He condemned the growing number of cross-border attacks despite Pakistan’s continuous diplomatic engagement and sacrifices.

Details of Pakistan’s Diplomatic Efforts

The Defense Minister shared a timeline of Pakistan’s official efforts with Kabul since 2021:

CategoryNumber of Visits / Actions
Foreign Minister visits4
Defense Minister & ISI visits2
Special Representative visits5
Secretary-level visits5
NSA visit1
Joint Coordination Committee meetings8
Border flag meetings225
Protest letters to Afghanistan836
Official demarches issued13
Pakistani martyrs since 20213,844
Terror incidents recorded10,347

Khawaja Asif said these numbers represent Pakistan’s consistent goodwill efforts, yet no positive response came from Kabul.

High Cost of Terrorism

The Defense Minister revealed that 3,844 Pakistanis — including civilians, military personnel, and law enforcement officials — have been martyred since 2021 due to terrorist attacks originating from Afghan soil.
Despite sacrifices and diplomatic restraint, Pakistan continues to face the brunt of cross-border terrorism.

Khawaja Asif’s Warning

“The time of patience is over. Pakistan will take all necessary measures to defend its people, borders, and sovereignty,” Khawaja Asif declared.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan desires peaceful coexistence, but it must be based on mutual respect, border security, and an end to terrorism.
